Challenge: Yara International aims to be the shaper of the nitrogen-based chemical industry. The company is intent on delivering first-class financial and operational performance, remaining at the forefront of innovation, and developing a company culture based on the core values of ambition, trust, accountability and teamwork.

Yara is uniquely equipped and committed to driving industry-shaping performance through operational excellence, profitable growth and staff development. Yara wishes to integrate new employees into the organization in a prompt and effective manner. The company is also keen to communicate the essence of the Yara brand, both as an employer and as an actor in the market.

The project: Yara’s widespread and complex business demanded an innovative solution. In response, SamSari developed The Yara World, an interactive program, which provides new employees with an overall vision of Yara International’s global operations. The Yara World contains information about the different parts of the organization in the form of e-learning, filmed personal portraits of Yara co-workers, interactive elements describing typical working days in different parts of the company, as well as an introduction to Yara’s corporate culture and values. Employees receive The Yara World on DVD together with a complementary workbook.

The interactive Yara World functions as an informative, as well as inspirational, tool for new and existing employees. The combination of in-depth information and e-learning, as well as themed films, provides employees with a better understanding of the many dimensions of Yara International.

SamSari also developed the Yara World workshop, including discussion questions, a quiz, a card game and other interactive elements aimed at getting employees engaged and inspired.

Result: The Yara World has been produced in nine languages. The program was launched in March 2008 in connection with Yara International’s acquisition of the Finnish company Kemira GrowHow. Now, more than 8,000 employees have the opportunity to experience The Yara World for themselves.
