Challenge: Global telecommunications company Ericsson has implemented SAP in several markets worldwide. The implementation has traditionally been a pure system implementation, where the end-users have been provided with system training from the system provider. In Market Unit Middle East, top managers chose a different approach, supporting the system implementation with a change management program.
The project: SamSari developed the “Elevate” program. A blend of dramatic and documentary film, realistic scenario-based exercises and games, workshops that define and explore the challenges of change, and a web-based training that provides end users with hands on experience of how a project is managed with the support of SAP all combine to reach the desired change.
SamSari also developed a workshop for managers within the Market Unit to provide them with information about the SAP implementation and how they could become ambassadors for change.
Result: The Elevate program has been a true success. Rolled out initially in 2008 to 2000 employees, it is now being extended to reach even more employees. The response from Ericsson employees who have participated in the Elevate program so far has been overwhelming: “great material – great workshops”, “perfect initiative towards change”, “excellent”, “hope all employees get the same introduction”. By the end of July 2009, the ONE system will have been implemented throughout the entire Market Unit Middle East.
